Summary: Overall the best Android Tablet regardless of size or price. Only thing that comes close is the Asus Transformer series.

I was bummed and excited to hear Asus was making the first true "Google" tablet. Excited because I knew the price was going to be competitive but bummed because I knew the quality and look would be poor. No one is going to deny that Asus makes value based computers that aren't always high quality. The Nexus 7 isn't any different. For $200+ it's a great value because you get an HD screen, quad core, 12 core CPU, and Android Jelly Bean, but you also might get a defective warping screen, or a bleeding screen, or defective speakers. I have had two Nexus's one that was perfected and I returned because I dropped and Gamestop was nice enough to give me a replacement but the second one has slight light bleeding in the lower left hand corner and sometimes has a slight refresh problem.

Apple is on top right now but there are a few things Steve Jobs had no idea what he was talking about and that mainly deal with size. Maybe Jobs had a ***** complex when it came to tablets because 7" hands down makes a better tablet size. The iPad is great and arguably is the best tablet money can buy but is a pain to hold. reading or viewing movies for a long time becomes a burden compared to holding a feather light tablet such as the Nexus 7 and yes 7" is enough. Remember it's how you use it not how big it is.

Asus and Google managed to pop in NFC, bluetooth, wifi, and GPS for $200+ which is nice but a 3G/4G model would have put the icing on the cake for me. In my opinion NFC is a waste for now.

The front camera is okay. It sounds better on paper than it performs in real life. The iPad 2's front camera out performs this but what to expect when the tablet is half the price of the new iPad.

16GB is a must unless your just doing reading, email, and surfing the web. Most high end games take almost a gig of memory and since Google is showing this as a gaming tablet of sorts 8GB is too low. I almost filled by 16GB in 2 days. The low memory would be okay if they added a memory card slot but typical of a Nexus device there is not.

The performance is great. It's not buttery smooth but similar to what I get with my Galaxy Nexus. The quad core and 12 core gpu are greta for high end games and I can finally play riptide at a decent frame rate.

In my opinion as great as a $200+, 7", Jelly Bean tablet is, there is not real killer feature that makes me grab it over my Galaxy Nexus. If the phone had 4G I think the possibilities of the device would open up more. I have been tethering it with my phone but that's not the same.
