"HP falls short of the mark"2.5 starson by pctec100
Pros: Strong multi-tasking, sharp display.
Cons: Case design, sluggish performance, many features difficult to find in the OS, lack of available apps.
Summary: In addition to this I've tested the Blackberry Playbook, several higher end Android tablets and the Ipad 2 in recent months. The Hp TouchPad is the least impressive of all of the devices I've tried. First off the case is awful. It's much thicker than other tablets. It's slick and the materials HP used smudge easily and the fingerprints are not easy to wipe off.
WebOS has a nice interface, very similar the BB Playbook. The problem with the interface is that finding some settings are not as obvious as they should be. The web experience is lacking. The browser is sluggish and it does a poor job with Flash.
The Email/Calendar makes accessing multiple accounts easy. You can see all your info in the same place, as is the case with Android.
While WebOS has more apps than Blackberry currently they trail Android and Ipad.
Based on the case alone I would not recommend this device to anyone. Even if you can get past that you will still find the OS lacking in features compared to Android/Apple and the device missing certain hardware components found in other tablets of similar price.
If you are in the market for a tablet go with the Ipad2, the Motorola Xoom or the Samsung Galaxy and if those are too $$$ for you then go for the Assus Transformer.
