Pros This tablet is running Android 3.2.1 (once updates are done). I have been running Android on multiple devices for quit some time now, and this tablet has impressed me in every way. The OS is snappy and responsive. I got mine for $299. 32GB!
Cons The WiFi signal at times appears to be weaker than competitors.
Summary I you find you way into the Settings>About Tablet>System Updates and can click on "Start to check new version". Then I highy recommend this tablet. If the above instructions are too hard, then you may experience some weird behaviors and lock ups, as others have mentioned and may want to look at something else. Does this mean that you won't have problems with another brand/model? Absolutely not! All devices, whether they are from Apple or any of the Android tablets out there will at some point need updates. It is the nature of the gadgets. I just hate to see a device get rated poorly when the updates correct pretty much every complaint I have read about.
PS, my device needed about 4 updates in total. It literally took 10-15 minutes to complete them all and I have not had a single problem. I did the updates as soon as I pulled the device out of the box and plugged it into a charger.
Pros Sleek, nice screen, good response.
Cons No USB port, manually ejectable SD card slot with a funky little "tool". Hard to get out of sleep in a dark room. Kernel error causing reboots.
Summary If it just worked like it should out of the box, there would be no problems. After doing some updates, installing apps, and trying to configure it, I opted to do a factory restore and just do all of the updates I could find until I try to customize it. (Oh, it's still updating!)
Pros Nice size, great to watch videos, nice camera and video camera.
Cons Wish it had a USB port.
Summary I love the IdeaPad!! It is wonderful. The size is perfect and the apps are great. The battery is very long lasting and the touchscreen is very responsive. So, I recommend it.
Pros Mainly Price - at $299 (Office Depot sale) its much more affordable than $499 for iPad2, and for $100 more, beats the heck out of the Kindle Fire, having 32Gb memory, and full access to the Android Market, and a nice 10" screen
Cons - Turn off auto-brightness... makes the tablet unstable and unusable. I could not get it to come out of sleep in a dim room with it on.
- Flimsy plastic back on it.
-Occasionally apps crashing, but not too often, and they start up again quickly.
Summary I got mine at Office Depot on a sale for $299. I like it a lot. The first problem I had was that after I enabled the auto-brightness feature, it got real unstable. I could not get it to wake up from sleep, especially in a dim room. I didn't associate it with the auto-brightness feature at first, and actually was thinking of taking it back to the store for a return, but found through a google search other were having the same problem. Turned off auto-brightness, and have had no problems at all.
I find its screen very nice and bright. Touch screen is very responsive. Very nice 10" screen for watching movies, reading eBooks, browsing the web. Netflix plays very well on it. Sometimes apps will crash, but it doesn't happen to often, and they can be restarted without much effort. Lots on customization is possible on the user interface. It comes preloaded with a good number of apps.
I with they had better speakers on it. They are kind of weak. Listening to a movie on a room with people talking can be a challenge.
Also the back on is it plastic, rather flimsy... I dont know why Lenovo decided to make it plastic... makes it feel like a cheap, Chinese design.
But for the price I paid, I love it. I has a lot of cool features like GPS, camera. accelerometer, extra storage, etc...
Pros Long battery life.
Like the size, great for watching videos.
Love Android Market.
Cons Wished it had a USB port.
Summary I am in love with this tablet. I know that the experts say that it doesn't stand out but the price was wonderful. I got it from Staples for $275 right before Christmas. That sure bets the Ipad and the Galaxy Tab in my book and with 32 g of storage it is wonderful. Plus you can add more. I love the HDMI port too. I bought another tablet from another company and this one is 10 times better and they cost the same. The other tablet was returned. Enjoy your buy.
