Pros: Promise of greater flexibility through the addition of Flash, HDMI port and dual core processors.

Cons: Unfulfilled promise at time of shipping through the addition of Flash, HDMI port and dual core processors.

Summary: Android users now have the specs that they felt were necessary to improve upon Apple's offering. But from the review, we learn that the dual core processor yields no type of performance increase. We learn that the HDMI port is not useful without the purchase of a $129 dock. And Motorola shipped the device without Flash installed. And the reviewer found the camera to be as silly in actual use as I had imagined. As the device ships, it costs more than an iPad yet is no more functional. As Howie Mandel would say, "You made a bad deal"!

Have you even used this device personally? I am going to assume that you have not! I have personally used the device through the prototype stage and it is very well polished compared to many of the devices released to market include Ipad.

In the future please have hands on use before scolding a product that you have no idea about once so ever!

Sorry to disappoint you, ryorklive, but I'm an IT Director and I support a variety of mobile clients on my network. iOS, android, Windows Mobile. I don't care what OS it uses, because I'm comfortable with ANY technology. I don't have OS Religion issues, and I'm not a troll.

The standard dock does not ship with an HDMI port on it. Check the website. And this is from the review itself:

"On the bottom of the Xoom you'll find connections for Micro-USB, Micro-HDMI, a socket for the included power adapter, and a pinhole microphone. Don't let the HDMI port fool you, though. In order for us to get video out from the Xoom, we first had to dock it in Motorola's $129 HD speaker dock. Once we did, though, the entire Honeycomb experience was mirrored on our TV, allowing apps like YouTube and Maps some room to show off."

Perhaps a simpler cable will come along and rectify this situation, but until then, the built in HDMI port is useless without the additional purchase of a $129 dock.

We did? We learned all that during this 2 minute demo? Think again! It comes with a docking station with an HDMI port. You can still use the one on the unit dummy, but it will take battery power. It will have Flash, unlike your beloved iPad. It also has expandable memory unlike the iPad. So go away Apple troll. You are not welcome here.

Please go and use the tablet in the store (AT LEAST) now that they are available before you post a review. This area is not for idle commentary based on ZERO experience...
