"Runs low of memory, but works" on by nSeika
Pros: Portable device for using internet. Lots of third party softwares. More or less, a portable computer. Acceptable weight and feels sturdy on hand.
Cons: The memory runs low and gets sluggish after browsing for a while. Difficult bluetooth internet.
Summary: First of all, this is a UMPC, a range of computer that seems becoming more niche after netbooks arrived. I like it that it?s big enough and small enough to be used everywhere. Plus, it can type in East Asian language too (albeit with 3rd party apps). The problem is there?s not that many free hotspot. Connecting with phone through bluetooth is difficult in my case (PAN needed additional hack appli).
The low memory seems to be manageable by activating more virtual memory that the device left off by default (it took 128 MB from the internal memory card).
The memory runs low with browsing and Firefox mobile is near unusable. But this could be just me because I bought a second hand device and didn?t do factory reset.

Also the Maemo PAN application works fine that I can use it for light internet use like Twitter (and other mobile sites). But the carrier data plan is still too expensive for using full website.
This is now my go anywhere computer when using my travel lighter set up. Still hasn't figure out the USB connection, but it fulfil my need of small handheld device for status update, news checking and notes taking.
For GPS, my recommendation would be, buy an external bluetooth receiver. It locks on the satellites a lot quicker.
