Pros Screen size and resolution; Same interface as S4 Cell phone with added features; S Pen functionality; Fast; Thin
Cons The tablet can do so much that certain features take a while to learn
Summary I bought this unit to try out to see if it would help me with my work in sales. I am on the road and a unit like this could make it easier to make presentations, draw artwork for ads and show customer testimonials. The Note makes all of these uses VERY easy! I could not believe how useful this unit is for my work. Oh, and it's fun to play with too. It is fast and responsive. And I didn't even mention the ability to split the screen and run two windows/programs at once - think of looking at emails while watching a video or browsing the web or navigating on a map while writing a presentation.
The S Pen is a feature that I thought I would not use. Boy was I wrong - It is very easy to use for drawing/sketching, taking notes and for searches.
I use the unit on wifi with my phone on as a Hotspot and I can access the internet on it anywhere.
I was also surprised when I registered the unit with Samsung - I received quite a few freebies: among them were - $25 Google Play credit; $50 Samsung Hub credit; 50GB on Dropbox for 2 years; 12 weeks of NY Times online; 1 year of Businessweek online and more. What a nice bonus.
To sum it up: the ecosystem was easy to learn as it matched my Touchwiz on my Galaxy S4 phone (yet it has so much more); it is fast; the S Pen adds so many features to make it better for work and play; It has the ability to add up to 64GB in memory. This was a purchase I was initially unsure about but now, I could not be happier.

Pros Screen is bright and text and graphics seem to float on screen. Combined with the apps available from Android Market this an incredible tablet to own and use. For such a slim tablet the speakers are amazing.
Cons Wish it weighed less & white one's finish is hard to keep clean. It would have been five stars if home, menu, and back buttons were on screen, especially for portrait use.
Summary I love my tablet and really can't wish for anything more from it.
Pros Multi tasking, note taking, a features list that is endless, SPen
Cons You have to pay a price for the luxury.
The notes-to-text can't decipher chicken scratch. Had it try and convert my father-in-law's horrible handwriting and it wasn't able to do it.
Summary I bought this tablet because other tablets were crippled in areas that I was going to need them most. I use this tablet for business use - presentations, note taking, and the multi-tasking functions were a must. I also didn't want it to replace my laptop (I wasn't too fond of the idea of typing documents on a 10" screen), but needed it as a companion. This tablet has performed wonderfully and I got what I needed and more.
The features of this tablet are so deep, that I'm still finding new uses even after owning it for a couple of months.
Pros The screen size is ideal for most tasks. The screen is terrific with excellent resolution and uniformity. There is expandable memory and of course, Android which allows for simple customization. Access to the Google Play store is a major plus.
Cons The included user's guide is minimal. Download the full PDF Manual from Samsung.
Summary This is a terrific tablet. It is much more of a useful tool for productivity and entertainment than other units that claim to be tablets that are little more than teched-up toys (thinking of the Amazon Fire HDX). The specs are reasonable and the processor easily handles whatever you throw at it. Expandable memory is a plus. This makes for a tablet that comparibly equiped to an iPad Air is about $150.00 less. Sure, the iPad Air looks pretty. Afterall it uses aluminum. However the iPad display doesn't come close in quality to the Note.
Largely it depends on what ecosystem you are a part of. iTune lovers will be swimming in new waters if they switch to the Android Google Play world. However, the iPad Air doesn't provide for much customization like you find in the Note. I own the iPad 4 and besides looking pretty sitting on the coffee table in my living room, it didn't meet my needs. You will not find the Note to be constraining in any way. It looks nice and gets the job done but it's not pretty.
As far as comfort in use, the Note is lightweight and well designed. You could actually use it one handed if you chose with minimal discomfort. Better to use 2 hands.
The standardized location for the buttons being in the landscape mode and separate from the display is a minor inconvenience but once you get used to it, it works fine. Viewing movies, or videos is a pleasure. Listening to music is great too. The side-firing speakers do a good job of offering stereo sound. The iPad is louder, but not nearly as pleasing to listen to.
The camera is actually good for a tablet. There are many editing options for pictures.
I recommend using the Nova Launcher. It offers easier customization and actually makes the Note operate more smoothly. Also, don't forget the screen saver and case.
Pros Fits in my purse.
Cons Cost too much to deliver less productivity. I feel cheated by Samsung and too much hype.
Summary Buyer beware of such a pricey device that under delivers and you can't stream videos. Samsung need to update this wife only device.
