"Continues the productivity Note line."4.5 starson by PatanjaliS
Pros: All the features that make the Note 2 so useful and smooth, but with more space in which to use them.
While the Note 2 allows scribbling some little diagrams, the Note 8 allows them to be larger and more sophisticated.
Cons: Not AMOLED display, though it may not make that much difference in the end.
Summary: Another likely success story.
Now to correct the reality distortion that this blog fosters:
1) Apple did NOT create the mid-size tablet market. Mid-size tablets from Amazon and Google dragged Apple into facing the reality of the convenience of the size, despite some ideological objections put out by Jobs.
2) The Note 8 was NOT designed as a competitor to the iPad mini. The Note 8 was obviously already on the drawing board before the iPad mini was announced.
3) The Note 8 is NOT a direct competitor to the iPad mini. It has a lot of features designed for productivity that the mini cannot match. It will probably be more expensive than the mini, but its feature set will justify that higher price for those who want them, and the success of the two previous Notes indicates that millions of people do!
4) App store size does not mean much if the device comes with the most useful productivity apps designed specifically for it. The type of people for whom the Notes are designed are those who would tend to have fewer apps, but use them to a deeper level.
