Cons: Price at 399 USD may be a bit Steep for users with limited needs, but one can find it at a lower price -- more on that in summary
The exterior look is basic glossy white (unimpressive)Summary: I love the Samsung Note 8. My hesitancy to purchase at what was then 388.99 USD simply disappeared when I opened the box and began using the Note 8.
The S-Pen is cool and the best thing about it is that you can use it to scroll web pages and/or bookmark important information by simply drawing signs (i.e. less than or greater than signs). The manual goes over all of this. Simply put,you have a plethora of ways to interface with the Note 8.
If you are on the go or at a meeting, you can take notes on it and later convert the notes into text. It is light weighing less than a pound, and although its a glossy plastic white, the thing is durable so no need to be concerned about throwing it into a backpack and go.
You can also use the Note 8 as phone and it is quite easy to hold in one hand. It is knows as a true "Phablet"and I can see why. Those who are looking for entertainment check out the WatchOn application and with a 2013 Samsung TV you will be in bliss!
In regards to price, please don't purchase from Best Buy and other retailers. The going price is 399 USD and you can simply find it cheaper elsewhere. Please check out my review at http://www.squidoo.com/samsung-note-8 for details on where you can get the Note 8 "Phablet" for as low as 369.99 USD brand new from respected online retailers.
All in all,the Note 8 gets my thumbs up and I've given my Ipad Mini to my son -- and that is saying a lot, believe me.
Kind Regards, Eric
