"Feels like too much of a compromise"2.5 starson by SezMichael
Pros: Priced to move
Cons: camera, screen resolution
Summary: I already have a Nook Color It's an excellent reader but as an Android tablet, it leaves much to be desired. So I was eager to check out the Tab 2. I was immediately disappointed with the screen resolution. Small text had to be magnified. The colors seemed muted.
My cell phone has a better display than this tablet. I'm sure you could forgive a lot for $250 but I've learned the hard way that if I let price overrule quality I regret it in the long run.
It probably wasn't fair that I tested the GT2 in an Office Depot. They don't provide much of an environment to test their tablet offerings. Plus they told me I could only exchange it for a store credit if I was dissatisfied. I couldn't take the chance.
Bottom line, the things that make tablets so smooth to the touch and brilliant to the eye are things you really have to pay if you want them. There's no way around it. You're not going to get a $400-tablet experience for $250.
