Pros Lightweight, easy to read Kindle books with one hand. Nice crisp clear screen, pinch zoom, dual cameras, video conferencing.
Cons No telephony on the American version. Although because there is a phone number given at activation, it's possible for the feature to be "turned on" in the future.
Summary I love the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Currently own a Galaxy S Vibrant and would replace it easily if telephony was available on the Tab. Hopefully in the future. Folks are complaining about the lag in the scroll, but I like it because it makes your scrolling deliberate, not every light touch can change the screen, how frustrating would that be. The tab really puts out great sound too and video playback is a snap. I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab but warn that it can be highly addictive. I have not put it down since I purchased it!
"Great tablet"on by leehemen
Pros Fast, responsive, great screen resolution for the size. It is upgradeable to 2.3 and has the look and feel of a well made tablet. for the size, cost, and what you get -- it is a great table. Lighter and easier to put into a pocket or purse.
Cons Will get better with the second generation. Newer processors and cameras, plus better Android OS coming.
Pros It is a nice looking tab that has durable feel and an attractive android interface
Cons The Galaxy cannot touch the iPad. The touch screen was slow and rotation was unpredictable at times. I feels like I am using a very heavy, very large cell phone. My HTC smartphone is better but I know that there is more to come.
Pros Size, build quality, Android
Cons Would be nice if phone option was included
Summary I was really thinking of getting the IPad but then say the Samsung Galaxy and purchased it for Sprint. After a week or so I decided to go ahead and exchange it for an IPad. After a few hours with the IPad I really miss the size of the Samsung Galaxy, the ease of use while holding it and the fact that it weighed half as much as the IPad. For some reason I also did not realize that the IPad had no camera. In the end, I just found the Galaxy Tab much easier handle and type on. The web browsing on the IPad left a lot to be desire since it cannot play embedded videos.
Bottom line, I went back to the Galaxy Tab, this is an awesome tablet, buy it with confidence!
Pros Nice size, screen,
wifi tethering easy to use,
integration with my Google account,
attractive white back panel,
can be purchased unlocked in the UK.
Cons Browser is configured to attract the mobile version of websites,
no obvious way to switch off flash,
no support for Google Docs,
too expensive in the UK at £399,
charging connector not EU standard - micro-USB,
not charging from a PC USB socket.
Summary Too expensive in the UK and Android 2.2 is not as slick as Apple iOS 4.2.1.
