"Great tablet, speakers - meh..."
on by DocdraPros Very responsive when downloading, installing & opening apps. Battery life is decent under normal usage, screen looks great, access to the entire Play store, TV SideView & the IR blaster & it is water/dust proof - which for me is a necessity.
Cons The speakers aren't great, they're barely good.
Summary The speakers are limited in reproducing any of the sounds from the low end of the spectrum simply because it is sooo thin - it is better with headphones, but only slightly; the new Kindle Fire HD, which I also have, has the best speakers I've ever heard on a tablet.
One thing I've found is that no one makes one table that meets all needs - you'd need the speakers from the Kindle Fire HD, the retina screen from the iPad (or the Nexus 10's screen), ability to add memory to the device, and then your own personal preferences on OS, and other options. What I've compromised for sound in this tablet, I feel I've made up for in other areas.
