  • "LG support? They don't know they make tablets."
    on by robodoc9301

Pros Form factor is great, screen resolution is pretty darn good, 4G ROCKS!, HDMI port and connectivity is awesome. You can turn your flat screen into a giant tablet. Processor speed is very good, Drag and drop files again is wonderful in a Windows environment

Cons No support from LG, they have nothing worth visiting the website, had a support guy ask me why I wanted to register the product? Android 3.0 firmware is unrefined to be nice about it. If you have any Apple products you will hate it. Screen freezes, Reset

Summary The G-Slate is one step above my old Samsung Galaxy Tab, (the single core processor one) the app market is somewhat different for unknown reasons. Some of the cooler applications that ran on my rooted Tab are not available on the LG android market? The only good game Asphalt five has been replaced with a HD version that is totally lame. If you are a gamer don't go android unless you like Pong type action. I cannot understand with the awesome hardware why the software is so, well soft! I love the connectivity of the device. Love being able to drag and drop files, music, videos without using iTunes or Kies (which never worked). Screen is awesome and the 4G is the greatest thing to happen to mobile devices since, well since ever! The device is as fast as my Wifi, I'm talking 9k downloads which is amazing!!! Still all that said I'm kinda bummed that T-Mobile does not have the iPad 2. If ATT gobbles them up I won't be able to afford a data plan anyway. I gave the device 3 stars because it has potential to be great and I am hoping that the 3.1 update will resolve some of the software issues. Please develop a better gaming experience, devices like this are the ultimate time killers and without gaming or Netflix I may as well keep carrying my laptop.

  • "Can do anything any one would need a tablet to do."
    on by MajorDraco

Pros It is not made by apple,
    Sleek fast performance,
    Graphics performance are amazing!
    Cheap Monthly fee
    Fast Speeds
    Wifi Tether

Cons Battery Life could be better
    Herd to find Accessories
    3D is gimmicky
    No Insurance Available from T-Mobile

Summary It can do everything I could ever need a tablet to do and it can do it better than any other device I have seen.

  • "Great tablet for t-mobile customers"
    on by d2harris

Pros Great screen, browser and entertainment software.

Cons Few software bugs need to be ironed out.

  • "G-Slate beats iPad for me"
    on by edterry0101

Pros Size is comfortable, screen is clear and bright, tons of apps, WiFi vs 3/4g; no contract.Front and rear camera is excellent.

Cons 4g uses battery and few options to slow it down. Some android apps have not been updated to work with this software release.

Summary I used a iPad over a year and hate the socialist control by Apple, many apps are totally worthless but then so are some of the android. So I can honest do a compare. This "slate" "tablet" is far better than the iPad. My hands dont get tired holding it, there is more flexability in using the screens and it is rock solid on WiFi, iPad has a weak WiFi radio. I do not travel around much, so WiFi keeps it going great. When I do travel I buy the plan $10-30 depending on how long i need cellular access. I love the fact it switches so fast to WiFi and saves the data usage on the cellular plan.If there were one thing I would add would be a better speaker, that is the only item that is better on the iPad. The screen switches position very quickly without the lag in the iPad, if you play a game it is very responsive. I plugged in a USB keyboard and off I went using it vs the screen keyboard. Next software update will add even more USB functions. If you want options and letting yourself decide what is best for you, then you will not go wrong with this choice, if you want to stumble along with someone else telling you what is best for you then get an iPad.

  • "Why all the comparison to the iPad???"
    on by niederb

Pros Not an Apple product. Honeycomb. Nice display.

Cons Way too expensive!!!!! That's not something unique to this product though. All these tablets are coming out with price tags that would make you think they are made of gold. Thet aren't laptops, they're just a toy. For the same money I could buy a REALL

Summary I'm sick of everyone trying to compare all the Android tablets to the iPad. I HATE Apple!!!!! I would never buy anything from them. Their practice of targeting young students anoys me. Do these people realize that the day they graduate and go to work less than 1% of them will use Macs? Apple may have 3% market share but that's not in the workplace. It sets young people up to fail and encorages this "topple the giant/go against big business" mentality which is stupid. I don't care if an iPad was $200, I still wouldn't buy one. Can't you just compare the product to relevant product like the Xoom and leave the iPads out of it?
