"A quality tablet. You won't be disappointed." on
Pros: Great size, Light weight, Windows XP Pro, Great screen, Ink input works naturally, Good wireless, Bluetooth option. I've used mine intensively for 8 months and am very happy with it. The included software to automaticaly switch the wireless settings
Cons: After 8 months of using this TabletPC, I've adapted to any minor pecularities and don't notice anything. I wish I opted for the faster 7200RPM hard disk and faster processor (mine is 1.5GHz), but that's it.

"Slow, short-range wireless, glitchy" on
Pros: It has the basic table features I wanted. No extra chrome, though.
Cons: Half the Toshiba desk dock ports are DESIGNED to NOT work with the Porteges. It has very poor wireless range v. several WAP/routers, the wireless-G is slower than usable when WPA encryption is used. It's getting returned.

"Great computer.... VERY vulnerable to dust" on by SamR80
Pros: fine portability, good overall speed
Cons: TOSHBIA has no policy or directions for removing dust that gets inbetween the display and the screen mask, gets a bit warm
Summary: I would nearly consider this computer perfect, small, light, powerful, incredibly useful as in tablet form.
However I rank this computer a 7 instead of a 9 for one very simple reason. Dust can get inbetween the screen and the screen mask (covering that you use your stylus on), when this happens Toshiba and most other computer repair shops are utterly useless.
Toshiba's repair personnel were the ones that trapped dust under my screenmask during a repair. Given the ease at which this can happen it is enraging that Toshiba does not provide a cleaning service to remove such particles, or even provide directions on how to do so yourself. So a marvelous computer becomes frustrating to use because of the little black specs that get stuck beneath the mask. -
"Awesome Convertible...." on
Pros: Amazing Screen, long battery life... The handwriting recognition is nothing short of amazing.
Cons: The Tablet PC pen that comes with the unit is comical.... I guess I expected a little more given the $2400 + pricetag. Bought a Cross Tablet PC pen, and will live happily ever after....
