Pros 2.2 Froyo upgrade (still no flash).
Cons No flash
Incompatible with most android apps.
No market unless hacked
Poor customer support
Over stating the processors ability.
Compatible Apps are few and far between.
Summary I gave it a half star because despite the fact that there is an upgrade to 2.2. There are quite a few problems with this tablet. First of all is how this company lied about this tablet having a microphone. It does not have one, but they will only tell you this after you ask for help in making it work. Ironically all the advertisements and even the current owners manual states that this device has a Mic located in the hole between the headphone and usb plug. However when you contact Cruz support you find out that there is not a microphone!! Also they claim that it has a 800MHZ processor but in fact it is a 500MHZ processor. Buyer beware this product is not as advertised, it is virtually useless unless you root and add the market otherwise finding compatible apps is nearly impossible.I feel that this companies lack of integrity is a serious issue that over shadows any redeeming feature this tablet may have.
"MIPS tablet"on by superderp
Pros Affordable tablet with Android 2.2
Cons This is apparently using a MIPS processor rather than the common ARM processor. This means that any app that is not pure Java will not work.
Summary Slatedroid has a great summary of tools for this tablet to customize it, remove bloat, install the apps you want, etc:
Pros Great size.
Cons Touch screen is not responsive enough. 1/2 the apps available @ the Cruz Market don't work. Stuck with Android 2 for good (until I learn how to crack it). No flash capability. Does not recognize .wav files as advertised and does not read ePubs.
Summary False advertising, slow internet connections, super poor customer service, no upgrades, poor response to touch. This has basically become an expensive Bible replacement, since the only app I've gotten to load correctly is a Bible app.
Pros Looks like it has lots of bells and whistles
Cons The bells and whistles do not work all the time. Keeps locking up, reset does not reset, takes a long time to write a short email
Pros Great color ,usb port , SD card slot, user- replaceable battery
Cons Very slow to respond . Few apps. that work. Hangs up constantly . Android 2.0 forever no upgrades To many quirks in system.
Summary It comes with a handful of applications anything more and you will have to use a 3rd party app. The only problem with that is 95% of them will not install. If you do get them to install it will lock up the system to the point you will need to unplug the battery because the reset button won't do anything.Email will take any were from 5 sec. to 2min. to open. Speakers are totally useless need to listen with headphones. The 1st tablet I used was so buggy I went to their site and downloaded a firmware update hoping to fix these problems. Needless to say "still buggy". I exchanged it hoping it was just a bad one ,no such luck . After 2 weeks messing with it I returned it and got my money back. I'm just curios how so many others could say with a straight face it's a nice product for the price!
