Specs for Optimus Vu II surface
LG's take on a phone, tablet hybrid could get a moderate hardware bump.
While the United States is just getting familiar with its version of the Optimus Vu, LG may soon be ready to introduce its successor to the rest of the world. The details for the presumed Optimus Vu II have spilled online, pointing to a moderately improved competitor to the Galaxy Note II.
According to Korean blog Bad IT Tong (translate), the LG device will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Like the current edition, the Optimus Vu II should offer a 1,080x768-pixel IPS screen, LTE support, and a 2080mAh battery.
There's no indication yet that LG is ready to announce the giant phablet but we might see something before year's end. Considering the known specs and details, it would be hard to imagine that LG would wait for the CES or Mobile World Congress trade shows coming up in January and February 2013 respectively.
That said, there are plenty of unknown factors, including whether this would ever come stateside. It took Verizon at least six months before offering the Optimus Vu (LG Intuition) locally, so I cannot imagine they're ready to jump on something new all that quickly. Then again, T-Mobile did exactly that with the Samsung Galaxy Note.
