"Zealot against the conventional."4.5 starson by StallionV8
Pros: Sleek, ergonomic design
Cons: Plastic doesn't seem as rugged as previous generations.
Summary: This is a terrific track-ball mouse. Not only is is downright awesome to behold, it fits naturally in the palm of your hand. Working at a desk job in the day and runner at night, a long day on a conventional mouse really stiffened up all the muscles from my wrist to my shoulder and made it painful to run. The relief it provides using the track-ball vs. shoveling a mouse across the desk is phenominal. So if you are hesitant about purchasing a track-ball for the first time, that example is great incentive. Plus the new orientation is not too difficult to get accustomed to and is very rewarding and efficient especially after getting the hang of it. For you veteran track-ball users, this is a terrific upgrade. I previously used the logitech trackman and really appreciated it. Though purchasing my first wireless mouse, I was skeptical that it would not be as accurate as a corded one or fade in and out. But the wireless technology is really a plus now freeing up more workspace and granting more mobility. I even like the styling more, especially the amazing blue orb, though the contours took a little fidgetting. I was worried when I first started using it that the trackball almost had this "grating" quality as it didn't feel terribly smooth when roling. Yet after using it some and building up a little finger oil, the trackball rolls around seemlessly. The only flaw in this device is the seemingly cheap plastic, and no where is this more apparent then when removing the battery cover. A firmer more reassuring snap in and out would fill in the rest of the fifth star for me. Overall this is a fantastic trackball and if you are considering making the switch, take the plunge as you may find it was worth it.
