"Great price after coupon, same as Zenith DTT901"
on by ITJonPros Price, ease of use, form factor, and picture quality.
Cons Does not automatically detect which monitor I am using to watch the signal.
Summary I use this box connected to both a 4:3 tube tv and a projector capable of displaying 16:9. Both work extremely well in the Chicago area. My picture and sound are great when connected to a basic set of rabbit ears. I receive CBS, NBC, ABC, WGN, PBS, WB, FOX, ION, UPN, plus a number of Spanish and religious channels. This easily picks up all of the sub channels for each of those stations as available too. ABC is number 7 in the Chicago area and I receive 7-1 (HD), 7-2 (SD), and 7-3 (Accuweather). There is such a noticeable difference from just plugging in the rabbit ears directly to the TV to using the box, even if the switch wasn't ever going to happen, I would still use this box for OTA television watching. This is the exact same box as the Zenith DTT901, just with the Insignia label on it. I have one of each as I was near Best Buy when I had one coupon and near a Circuit City when I had the second coupon. And they are identical.

"Great Little Product"
on by planebluePros Small, cheap, easy to install, and amazingly clear picture for over the air tv.
Cons Program guide is basic compared to satellite or cable, but then again, over the air never had a guide at all. Remote does not control tv on/off or volume as it should.
Summary I purchased this product on Jan 31, 2009. No problems accepting the $40 govt coupon. I also purchsed $13 rabbit ears to do with it. Set up was simple and we were watching TV in minutes. I am absolutely amazed at how clear the picture is and how many channels we get (23 in all). I have Direct TV for my main set, but was tired of paying extra for additional TVs. This is a great way to get very clear, basic tv on additional sets. I wish everyone knew about this. Then maybe more would be on free, over the air tv and we wouldn't have to pay so much for tv.

"Better than I could have hoped."
on by cnetstr8fwdPros Clarified every channel and added 10 more!
Cons aspect ratio changes without rhyme or reason, but I can live with it.
Summary This TV has never looked so good. Why did I wait so long? Oh yeah, the $40 coupon from the government! It convinced me that maybe I don't even need a big screen now that the picture is so clear.

"Missing Basic Consumer Requirements"
on by Rx_Pros cheap - somewhat easy to connect
Cons No S-Video input or S-Video output. That equates to very low quality options.
Summary This would not have cost more then $0.78 to manufacture.
You can end up throwing this one away and spending $3.00 more for one that offers S-Video. In an emergency- don't you want to see the details of a storm or map? TV stations will get use to the smaller fonts.
This is worthless if you plan to use it for an emergency.
For the same price - pick a product with S-Video input/output.
