Magnavox TB100MW9

Pros: It works, its cheap.

Cons: Remote! Its horrible. Also it seems to be very picky with the type of antenna used. I tried 3 different kinds of antenna's.

Summary: Not that great. My grandparents bought another model of the magnavox converter (it seems they have 2 versions? My remote is different than thiers?!). I installed it and had the same feeling (is my antenna inadequate??).

I tried 3 different antennas. The first was the traditional rabbit ear type. Decent reception. The second was a newer style one, the 3rd was a high power "plug in" type that worked best before DTV. The "plug in" high power antenna netted the worst recection, the other two were equal. I still do not get channels with the DTV converter that i could with analog.

My parents bought a cheaper converter, Accer or Access (I forget the name) but it seems to do a MUCH better job of picking up channels. I bought 2 of these magnavox tb100mg9 units at the same time and i'm having second thoughts! Granted, they were on sale for $40, so add your $40 cupon & all you pay is sales tax, but I'd try another model if I knew...
