"Possible fix for poor reception on aerial antennas"
Pros: Read Below
Cons: Read Below
Summary: Ok, if you have a good old fashion aerial antenna and start using a digital converter box and notice that your signal strength is horrible, I would replace the cable from the aerial with RG6 type coax cable. I'm guessing most of the people who are having problems with aerial antennas are using either the old twin lead cable or RG59. These do not have appropriate shielding. What happens is both and antenna and your cable line will act as an antenna and the box will receive the same information but at slightly different times causing it to get poor signal quality. Just a thought, give it a shot if all your other options are exhausted.

I am using RG6 from my rooftop antenna which was recently upgraded and replacement of the cable with better shielding was part of the upgrade and I have not had any image issues with my RCA boxes. My signal strength is not the best either but the pictures are still great even on the weaker channels so maybe the shielding improvement is only allowing the antenna to receive the signal and not the cable too which gives me a good picture digitally. Good Tip!

Hello my antenna is only maybe 3 years old. I purchased it after Rita because we could not get cable or etc. I bought it at Walmart it has digital and analog capabilites. Or it should have. All the wiring is still good and so are the cables.
