Sony brings the Internet into your living room! With the Sony INTW150 Internet Terminal connected to any TV and a standard analog phone line, you can discover the exciting new world of electronic information, e-mail, and entertainment, without a computer. Sony supplies the Internet Terminal that makes your hookup quick and easy. WebTV service is your total Internet provider for a simple low monthly fee. With an easy-to-understand WebTV service user-interface on your TV screen, you can use your Internet Commander remote control to point and click on the Internet sites you want while your remote control also operates your TV for broadcast viewing. WebTV Service is a subscription based online service that provides an easy-to-use gateway to the Internet. It is a unique user interface that provides added value by packaging specially screened and selected content and has special capabilities to address information needs of consumers, without a personal computer, for a small monthly fee. Built-in 56kflex modem provides faster Internet connections. Six Personalized User Accounts allow up to six individual addresses to be used from one unit, so everyone in the family can have individual e-mail addresses. Message Waiting Light lets you know there are new messages awaiting retrieval. SurfWatch (Parental Control) allows parents to control available content. WebTV Universal Remote Control allows you to control your WebTV, including the cursor, as well as most functions of most brands of televisions. If you have Call Waiting and receive a telephone call while on the Internet, Lineshare interrupts you session, flashes a message "You have a call, " allows you to answer your call, then automatically returns to the site you were connected to when you're ready to resume your Internet session. Sony WebTV Software Technology makes the unit compatible with HTTP, MIME, HTML 3.2 websites, Netscape Navigator 3.0 and Microsoft Explorer 3.0 extensions. The Internet Terminal supports MIDI and RealAudio embedded audio files, enables background music while surfing an provides real time synthesis of 128 tonal musical instruments, 84 percussion instruments, and audio effects.
