The smallest of Lexar's minidrives, the JumpDrive Traveler measures just 2.75 inches long, 0.62 inches wide, and 0.4 inches thick. It's encased in translucent red plastic and bears a strong resemblance to Verbatim's Store 'n' Go, but thick silver strips on the front and the back prevent you from seeing its inner circuitry. Like Lexar's other drives, the drive capacity is stamped on one side of the JumpDrive Traveler, and there's a tiny white area for labeling on the other. A hole on the end of the drive is large enough to accommodate a keyring.

The JumpDrive Traveler comes loaded with Lexar's robust and easy-to-use Traveler software suite. The suite includes an application that lets you use Internet Explorer while preventing cookies and other data from landing on your hard drive. There is also a portable version of Outlook Express and a utility that lets you easily synchronize files between the JumpDrive Traveler and a PC. The one thing the drive lacks is a password-protection feature.

The JumpDrive Traveler is currently available in capacities ranging from 128MB to 512MB; the 128MB model costs about $60, or approximately 47 cents per megabyte, which is slightly more expensive than average.

Great usb drive!

Pros: compact, yet strongly built

Cons: Lost the cap, no-where to put cap if on keychain

Review: Great usb drive. Ive had mine for 2 years now, and it is by far one of the greatest tings i have ever bought. I use it to transfer data between my desktop, laptop, and my school. But beware of losing the cap, one day it just fell off, luckily you can buy extras from lexar!

An excellant drive

Pros: Small and compact

Cons: Price per megabyte a little high and the cap can get lost easily.

Review: I have had and used this drive for nearly a year. Once I realized that I needed to format it in order to use it the way I wanted to, I haven't had any trouble. I particularly appreciate the snap covering on the "USB" end of the drive. It protects the contacts. Several of the other drives I looked at didn't have the snap covering. The drives will come with several "sizes" ie. 128, 264, 512,etc. Price will increase as the size increases.

Works Fine for Me

Pros: Portable, Compact, Easy to Use

Cons: Boxy Design

Review: I've had no problems using in any of my computers at home and elseware. Works fine for me. For those that had problems: Did you make sure that the unit was pushed in all the way?

Did not work on any of my three computers

Pros: Small and Stylish

Cons: Does not work as advertised

Review: Had to install USB driver updates on win2000 in order to see the drive. After that, the Lexar update software does not recognize the device. Windows XP requeires driver updates also for it to work. Also, the connector is not very reliable since my laptop does not even detect the device upon connection.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Pros: Light weight makes it easy to throw away

Cons: Terrible fit and quit working after about 1 month

Review: The piece that inserts into the port is abnormally small and does not provide for a secure connection. Also, the drive's width interferes with other devices plugged into neighboring ports. Most importantly, it stopped working after about 1 month. TERRIBLE product.

Wish I read these posts first!

Pros: Works fine when I plug it into the back of my desktop. WOrks in my ibook.

Cons: Will not work in the USB hub I have due to its short size. Seems like everyone else has this problem. Hopefully an extetion cord will work...but I shouldn't have to use one. This should work in ALL USB hubs. Also, the built in software is for windoze

Doesn't fit laptops

Pros: Works well with desktop computers and USB hubs

Cons: Doesn't fit laptops. And that's the main reason I bought it. Had to return it. Why in the world would they make one that is designed too short for laptops?

Excellent product for open USB ports.

Pros: Small, light, easy to use & perfect for the most part.

Cons: Had to take return because the design the USB male extension was shortened and literally wouldn't reach into my slightly recessed laptop (Dell 8200) USB port but fit other desktops perfectly.
