Pros Excellent Flash Drive
Cons Sometimes hard to push open or close USB connector
Summary After having a couple flash drives I tried this one and it is one of the best I have owned. Very reliable, fast read and write and for a lower price than comparable products makes this a winner.
Pros While it works, it works well. Very fast, case is rugged, slide-away connector is a nice feature. Blue light is cool.
Cons Worked fine for 80 days - then died! Can't get my data off of it. A quick search shows that many people are finding that their Cruzer Titanium dies after a few days/weeks of use. Also, it appears that when the device first came out it was more reliabl
Pros Sturdy Case
Cons Electronics failure almost guaranteed
Summary Purchased 3 of these for our IT department. Each one has failed. Worked fine for 3 months, then just died. Replaced the first one, the 2nd one failed a week later, and the 3rd about 3 weeks after that. Now one of the REPLACEMENTS from Sandisk has failed.
Sandisk offered to replace them all with a downgrade to a cruzer mini or micro. Declined, got them to upgrade one to a 1GB model.
My belief is that the drives are prone to static electricity or shorts somehow. Sandisk tried to tell me there isn't a problem with the Cruzer line, but I have seen enough people with the same "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" issue to know otherwise. When you purchase 3 drives, and have 4 failures, you know there is a problem.
Avoid like the plague.
Pros looks good...
Cons TWO DRIVES TWO MONTHS, TWO FAILURES...
Summary I can not believe that CNET rated this drive so high, did you guys ever use it?
I bought my first in November of 2005 and it failed the third week of December 2005, so I got with SanDisk and sent them the following… I am getting the following... "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." It started a week ago and was on and off now the drive doesn’t work at all. How do I get it replaced and the data removed or formatted off?
There service was great, I explained that I worked in Government in a sensitive environment and that I couldn’t return the drive intact, they told me how to open the case and suggested I drilled holes in the memory chips. I did, after I used our favorite technique for data storage destruction, Microwaves… a 30 second zap on high took care of any concerns about data security.
SanDisk sent me a Return Materials Authorization and I sent back what was left, in less then a week I received a new drive.
It’s now the second week of February 2006 and I now have another piece of JUNK…
I’ve opened a new support ticket with SanDisk asking for a refund or credit, lets see how they react now…
Pros Fast, good tech support
Cons Completely unreliable
Summary My first 2GB Cruzer Titanium died 3 months after purchase. SanDisk sent a new which died 3 weeks after I received it. I spoke extensively with one of the techs at SanDisk and he told me that the Cruzer Titaniums had reliablity problems and that I should use the Cruzer Mini, which does not have reliability issues.
