SanDisk Cruzer Titanium (512MB, silver)

Pros: looks good...

Cons: TWO DRIVES TWO MONTHS, TWO FAILURES...

Summary: I can not believe that CNET rated this drive so high, did you guys ever use it?

I bought my first in November of 2005 and it failed the third week of December 2005, so I got with SanDisk and sent them the following… I am getting the following... "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." It started a week ago and was on and off now the drive doesn’t work at all. How do I get it replaced and the data removed or formatted off?

There service was great, I explained that I worked in Government in a sensitive environment and that I couldn’t return the drive intact, they told me how to open the case and suggested I drilled holes in the memory chips. I did, after I used our favorite technique for data storage destruction, Microwaves… a 30 second zap on high took care of any concerns about data security.
SanDisk sent me a Return Materials Authorization and I sent back what was left, in less then a week I received a new drive.

It’s now the second week of February 2006 and I now have another piece of JUNK…

I’ve opened a new support ticket with SanDisk asking for a refund or credit, lets see how they react now…
