Verbatim Store 'n' Go

Add to my list Product summary

The good: Compact, cool design; includes USB extension cord.

The bad: A tad expensive per megabyte.

The bottom line: Decent but with few extras, Verbatim's Store 'n' Go has very little to distinguish it from other run-of-the-mill USB flash drives.

With circuitry visible through its translucent red casing, the Verbatim Store 'n' Go is one funky-looking drive. The cool design is further accented by a silver strip that runs around the drive and serves as a loop for a keyring or the included neck strap. Measuring just 2.75 inches long, 0.75 inches wide, and 0.37 inches thick, the Store 'n' Go will also fit easily in your pocket.

Beyond its flashy design, this drive is fairly straightforward and easy to use. Plug it into your PC, and it shows up as an empty drive. Verbatim includes a driver-installation disc for Windows 98 users, a one-page user guide, and a 4-foot USB extension cord--plenty long enough to reach all the way around from the USB port on the back of your computer. Verbatim's Store 'n' Go is available in a variety of capacities, from 32MB all the way up to 1GB. The 128MB model costs about $60, which is roughly 47 cents per megabyte--a little more expensive than average.
