Pros This vacuum really picks up the dirt and hair, which is why I bought it.
Cons I hate the way you have to empty the filter - you end up getting all the dirt and hair you just picked up all over the floor again when you try to empty the canister. I have had bagless vacuums before - this is by far the worst I have seen!
Summary Although this vacuum performs well thus far (I bought it in November), I don't like the way the cord is positioned on the side instead of in the back, so you have to hold it in your right hand or else risk running it over. The clean up feature is inadequate; my previous bagless vac (Kenmore) had a huge canister and didn't require me to get my hands filthy when emptying the canister. I can't vacuum one whole room without having to empty the canister at least 2x, and then have to go back a third time to get up the dirt I dropped while trying to empty the canister! Also, this machine does not tolerate running over anything (cords, cables, etc.) which my other vacuum did easily. I wish I had stuck with the Kenmore but unfortunately they didn't offer an acceptable bagless alternative in this price range. i will be looking for another vacuum so that I can delegate this to the garage.
Pros I liked it when it worked, it would lift the hair out of the floor and was self propelled
Cons plugged up often almost every time we vacumed, we constantly had to tear it apart to clean and it wasn't easy. It finally quit sucking and I started using a vacum I got at a garage sale for $10 that works much better. We should have stuck with Sears
Summary It only lasted 6 months our other vacums were only a 1/3 the price and lasted longer than 6 months, usually 2-3 years, it is sad it was supposed to be good for homes with pets and it could last longer than 6 months. i will never buy a Bissell product again!
