"A decent graphics card, but not suited for gaming"

    by mattdude789 on April 22, 2007

Pros: Works very well with Windows Vista, smooth transitions

Cons: Experienced a lot of glitching on Call of Duty 2

Summary: This graphics card is perfect for those who have windows vista and have a lot of multimedia. Would not recommend for any gaming.

How much resolution do you need? If you're not running the native resolution of your LCD monitor, you are not getting the best picture you can get. As for all the games you mention running at their maximum settings, if you're not at your monitors native resoluion then your not at max settings. To convince me, you would have to provide the settings you use as well as the resolution your running and the frame rates you're getting. I could quite likely bring this card to its knees without much effort. However, I have no doubt it's quite nice for multimedia, which it seems is what it was designed for. Having said that, my old 9600XT with 256M and an AGP interface also worked quite well on multimedia. If you want an "upgrade" then spend over $150, otherwise it won't be much of an upgrade.

This card is great, nearly just as good as the step up ATI X1600, i have the pro version along with a Dell Dimension C521 with Vista Premium and 2 gigs of RAM. I can play Oblivion just fine on High settings, with all the detailing set to high as well, Doom 3 also on high settings, Half Life 2 maxed, Far Cry maxed, Painkiller, Resident evil 4(evil though there are non shading or lighting ajustments, still looks awesome). So being that these are pretty graphically demanding games, you just can't beat this card for the price, and honestly just HOW much resolution do you really need?
