I have owned three digial video cameras over the last couple of years. VideoStudio is the only program, and I have tried two other major competitors, that has recognised the files from all three cameras correctly and allowed me to utilize them the way the

Corel's phone support is not the best. I have had good results getting answers to my questions on the User to User forum board online. The moderators there are knowledgable and reply quickly to questions.
Summary
Videostudio is well worth the investment you make in both money to purchase it, and the time you invest to become proficient with it.
