Pros The model on the box cover is kinda cute
Cons App crashes, doesn't recognized MicroMV files, pathetic tech support
Summary My first PC was an Apple IIC, I have a degree in electrical engineering and I write software that's installed in electric utility control centers around the world.
This product is just junk. And the tech support doesn't appear to be much more than broiler plate crap sent from some out-sourced call-center.
If you want to make a career out of being a product tester for pre-beta software then go ahead and buy this. Otherwise shop for something else.
"Ulead sucks"on by barneyh
Pros not too expensive
Cons does not work
Summary I have tried to use Ulead for 2 years. I got it to work temporarily with a VCR connection, but it is very tempermental and will not recognize my equipment.
Help and FAQ's are non existent. CNET's good summary must have been paid by Ulead.
Pros Can't even get to the pros
Cons When it's not crashing it's shutting down
Summary Although the program is fairly straight forward to use,it crashes continually. If you don't mind saving your work every five seconds or so then this product is for you. If not, be prepared for this program to close down completely at any time with no error or any explanationas to what happened. It just disappears.
Pros Very Intuitive Interface, can create slide shows
Cons Limited DVD menus and options
Summary I recieved a free version of this program with a Plextor A-D converter. I also free version of Nero 6 that came with my HP burner. I have tried both and settled on VideoStudio 8. I like the ease and simplicity of the editing tools. I wish that there was a way to link the titles to the video, so that if one were to move the video around, the titles would follow automatically. I like being able to control the volume of the audio tracks, I wish that this control was available in the DVD menu as well. Rendering is slow, but quicker than Nero 6.
Pros Can't think of any
Cons It crashes alot
Summary P4 2.4Ghz 400mhz fsb 1.5G PC3200 with built-in ATI Radeon 7500. I tried their demo software, along with several others, but it would crash almost immediately. I am now using Roxio/Easy Media Creator 8, and I can capture and edit video although the interface sucks. And don't even THINK about using the slideshow on EM-8.
