Pros None. Maybe if it worked.
Cons Video not in sync with audio. Shuts off. Can't update title
Summary Originally had the VR2945. Video & audio would not match up. Called their customer service. After being on hold 20 minutes EVERY time I call, they said it was the brand of DVD I was using. Not DVD-R, the brand, Maxell. They said try to use Imation or Verbatim. Same problem. Send it back. They would not reimburse postage. Received a reconditioned model VR2940. Keeps shutting off and cannot change title. Finally got QVC to refund the money and we are going to buy a Sony RDR-VX500.
Pros If your unit does what it says it does then you may like it. Good luck.
Cons When using the Disk Menu to finalize or complete a newly recorded DVD the remote won't move you through the options. I have to unplug the unit to get the DVD to eject;
Summary I purchased a GOVIDEO VHS to DVD recorder because I loved my GOVIDEO dual deck VCR dubbing recorder and thought I could trust the product. My brand new right out of the bos VHS to DVD recorder is a nightmare. I am unable to FINALIZE or MAKE COMPATIBLE my DVD's because the unit freezes or the needed menu won't appear on the screen leaving the DVD's practically unusable on my other home DVD players. I called GOVIDEO support and got a recorded message that they were busy and was hung up on. If I can't get answers to these problems the unit is useless in making DVDs. Maybe it will record from DVD to VHS better.
Pros The play back is great on both VHS and DVD.
Cons I can't believe in this day and age, closed captioning isn't supported. I e-mailed GoVideo tech support because I couldn't get it to work on the VHS tapes or on the DVD's that didn't have captioning but supported CC. They wrote back and told me that CC
Pros YesDVD makes transfering VHS to DVD easy. This feature is very reliable.
Cons When set to time record to DVD+RW, the unit would either not turn on and record or it would turn on to record but only produce a blank disc. Shows that did record would freeze 20 minutes into the disc. Erasing a title on a disc corrupted the other titles
Pros The concept is good.
Cons It has too many operational problems, just turning it on is a challenge. YESDVD, nice idea, too hooky, not very flexible.
