The DVD recorder fails to record
Pros: Nothing that I can think of!
Cons: It damages DVDs and fails to record on them
GoVideo apparently does not exist anymore and when it did, from what I have read, their customer Service left a lot to be desired.

Has a serious recording problem
Pros: fairly easy to use
Cons: can't work well with brand new disks
I wanted to make a DVD of a vHS tape and found this neat bug - the interesting thing is that their manual states it can be done;
1) Insert a brand new DVD-R disk into the unit
2) Plug in a vhs tape
3) press the VHS button on the remote
4) press the copy button on the remote
5) record for about 10 minutes
6) press pause on the remote
7) fast forward for about 22 minutes on the vHS tape
8) press the copy button on the remote twice
after about 1 minute the TV screen will state "cannot record due to a defective disk'

Doesn't work as a VCR replacement
Pros: Can archive VHS tapes to DVDs
Cons: Timed recordings don't seem to work; poor support; slow
But then I tried recording a TV show to DVD. The recorder portion worked (even though the instructions didn't tell you to turn off the unit after setting the timer), meaning it powered on and appeared to be recording. But when I attempted to play back the disc or even load it, it issues the msg "Unknown Disc. Check disc again."
I'm using the exact same media (Memorex 8x) I've used for all my other recordings. Nothing on their website about this problem or firmware upgrades. Turned off Auto Clock (seems like one of their listed problems might be the same as a timed recording), but their instructions were wrong. It just rejects the disc and opens the tray. You have no chance of finalizing the disc or anything else.
