"LOADING error - Totally Annoying!!!!!"
Pros: Great unit - up until the loading error
Cons: Loading error - what is that about? Nothing in the manual or on the UK website. Only on the US
Summary: Really enjoyed using this unit for first two months. Then all of a sudden, the LOADING error appeared. At random, locking the unit up for hours!!! Absolutely useless. And it looks like JVC have known about this for awhile? Very annoyed that I have to take it back to get a patch. What was a great experience, is now soured. I have used JVC in the past and they are generally excellent products. Waiting for a response from the UK customer service - been a week so far.

They cannot fix the loading error on mine for close to two years. Two patches later and I had to pay for shipping both times it started flashing LOADING again. I called the customer service number and the person told me send it again to JVC at my expense to their service center for the third time. I refused and decided to use their email customer service. I demanded a new model and they countered by either to ship it for free to have it repaired or replace it with the DR-MVS. I don't use the dual tuner so I'll try the model but I've read negative reviews on this already. I guess I'm @#$%&.

Flashes for hours "loading"
no way to reset
unplugging does not help
but something else! -
I got the same "loading error" message on all three of the same DR-MV1S JVC units that I unfortunately owned.
You are right on about this James. This is the reason I sent mine back. It seems that we are not the only ones who got scammed by JVC.
Mine worked fine for about a month or two, then all three just quickly died a fast death.
My advice? Stay away from JVC on these type of products. They only make crappy P.O.S machines. -
This is a wonderful product until it goes into this "Loading" mode. Then it is totally useless. What is it loading and can it be fixed?

I confirm jamesinmel's story. Even worse, my DR-MV1S went on repair under garanty. Once "repaired", felt again out of service. Have other people similar experience ??

Like James, I really enjoyed using this unit for first two months. Then all of a sudden, the LOADING error appeared. At random, locking the unit up for hours!!! Then the TV picture in DVD mode became garbled and noisy. Now all I get is the LOADING error no matter how many times I unplug it for several minutes and then plug it back in. I called the 800 number from the JVC website and was told to ship it to the nearest repair center at my expense. When I first bought this DR-MV1S, I recommended it to my brother who bought one, but did not open it right away. When I started experiencing the LOADING error, I immediately called my brother and told him to return his ASAP...he did and got his $300+ back, whew! Now all I have is a big chunk of medal that is Absolutely useless. If JVC knows of this defect, they should come out and say it and recall all these units. When I send this in for repair, I am afraid of what it will cost, I hope its free. I normally buy SONY, but gave JVC a chance because of the DR-MV1S features ...should have Stayed with SONY.
