Cons: a pain to program beyond the current day, blackouts can fry the hard drive
Summary: Being able to record programs without having to run around to find blank media is wonderful, especially if you just want to "time-shift" your viewing and not necessarily keep a copy. And the picture quality is great. But Panasonic could definitely streamline the interface. My biggest gripe however was that the hard drive got fried when we had a brownout this summer. Fortunately the machine was under warranty, but they had to replace the whole unit - it wasn't repairable.
