Cons: Afraid to turn on my Mitsubisih (software driven) HDTV with it hooked up to it. Evervrything goes haywire!

Sorry to disagree, but I also had problems when I bought a Mitsubishi HDTV - It wouldn't work w/ several of my ancillary devices including the Panasonic model VCR/DVD. I returned it & got a 40" RCA HDTV instead (which had MORE ports & hookups inc. a PC direct - plus it was $215 LESS (on sale) and everything works great. Nice to be able to hook up my laptop & run slideshows etc. The Panasonic even recorded my SD pics from the chip + old home movies & recordings are sharp & clear.
I did my homework before buying the 2nd TV - took an HDMI tech course online -[there's a lot to HDMI most consumers are not aware of]. I also checked out RipOffReport.com & reviews before I bought my 2nd TV.
