"Worst piece of electronic equipment I've ever purchased."
Pros: Very few, if any.
Cons: Support from Philips was worse than poor, it was pathetic. I spent a long time trying to get this unit to work but it was impossible. It should never have been released to the public.

I've had the HDRW720 for about ten months now; and it's changed the way I watch TV. It's behaved flawlessly; and while it's obviously first generation in terms of user-friendliness; I've personally found it easy to use.
If I've got one gripe, it's that the BBC sometimes start programs late; and so my pre-set recordings catch two minutes of rubbish, and lose the last two minutes of the show. There's a way to tack an extra two minutes on the end of all recordings, but I'm too lazy to do it.
Altogether an excellent bit of kit. -
I have had nothing but trouble with this unit since I purchased it. I have tried to call Philips about it and they tell me I have to pay shipping to send it to Louisville, KY to have it repaired, under warranty. As they say, "If I'd only known then what I know now..." Save yourself some major headaches, don't buy one, don't ever buy anything fron Philips, I know I never will again.
