Still Using After Two Years!by mindypin - October 27, 2008
Pros: This is easy to use, and makes good DVD copies of cable shows.
Cons: Very fussy about upconverting. I have had no trouble playing DVDs on this machine until we bought a new TV, and thus switched from the component connection to HDMI. Now, some DVDs won't play, or the screen goes crazy every so many seconds.
Review:
Overall I guess I'm lucky my machine still works at all, based on reviews I've read at other sites. I am just sad about the probablility of having to switch back to component connections because of the numerous problems with DVDs we've experienced since hooking it up via HDMI cable.

Better than the cheaper LG and Insignia (Best Buy brand)by bbq1607 - December 28, 2006
Pros: Samsung does not restrict recording from DVR
Cons: Confusing Remote (all of them confuse me)
Review:
I also own a Toshiba Recorder with a hard drive (expensive junk), and a cheap Insignia. The Samsung does not care what I record from a DVR or its own tuner and the quality is very good. The cheaper Insignia must think I am recording Nuclear Plans for National Security because it doesn't allow me to record "any" movies or even some TV series. Whatever you buy. Don't buy cheap.

Good all-media-in-one solution; noisy fanby Reilers - November 9, 2006
Pros: Good build-quality and PQ for the price; nice MP3 interface
Cons: noisy fan; some HDMI connections problems yet to resolve
Review:
I have not seen any user reviews of this model, but decided to buy it on the basis of good comments about similar Samsung combo units. Online it was more than the DVD VR330 and (surprisingly) LESS than the DVD VR335. I am generally pleased with my purchase after two weeks. Set-up was straight-forward, even with a fairly involved configuration of a digital cable box, separate TiVo and an AV Receiver. PQ is very good, but have yet to get my Samsung TV to "recognize" the HDMI input for upconversion. I've contacted Samsung support for advice. This model has a great screen interface for playing MP3, JPEG and DiVx disks. Recording from medium to medium has been easy. One warning to those who are real particular about their "sound stage" - the rear cooling fan on this unit is a bit noisy.
