Sony RDR-VX500

Pros: Easy, one button vhs to dvd or dvd to vhs.

Cons: Jumpy playback, can't dupe discs.

Summary: This is my second unit. First one taken back, this one is no better. Playback looks terrible on a very nice monitor. Tech support had no idea how to help. It actually seems to be a design flaw. It will lock up like a computer from time to time. Needs to be "rebooted". From time to time, a warning will come up after making a disc that says disc can't be played in any dvd player. Yet, everything is fine and the disc plays. The dvds I create on it can't be copied. All tech support had to say was use Sony discs and make sure you finalize the disc. Gee, thanks. Seems it is yet a another flaw that no one seems to care about. It is very annoying when this is part of your business and it doesn't work right. Very disappointed. Looking for another burner now. Won't choose Sony again.
