Pros: Free basic tivo

Cons: Tivo promps for upgrade are annoying

Summary: I wanted a hard drive recorder to replace the old VCR and this did the trick nicely. Been using it over two years now with very few problems. Rebate on purchase was not accepted by Tivo since I didn't subscribe to their upgraded service. The basic Tivo works great. Occasionally it will record the wrong program but I can't determine if it is the recorders fault or Direct TV. Tivo updates on station channel changes are worthless because you can't audit 350 channels to see what changes and they don't tell you. I can keep a whole slew of movies for future watching and have not run out of room yet.Over all it is a great unit as long as Tivo stays in business. Without Tivo I do not know if it would work.
