Pros Great innovation as a platform for pen applications, good voice and recording quality. Great battery life. great integration between notes and recordings.

Cons Not pressure sensitive, misses strokes, ink quality is not as good. No integration with OneNote is a show stopper. Have to buy a separate piece of software for transcription.

Summary Buy if if you are a gadget freak, and do not care about integration with OneNote.

Pros Not much. At first it was a nice toy. I thought I could use it to take notes -- but you have to have that special paper. What a bother. I tried to create interesting sketches -- but it was not designed for that. Then the missed data. The glitches. The dow

Cons Cons? I gave it away.

    Summary Don't waste your money.

Pros The Edge does exactly what the company (Livescribe) claims it does. The audio recording is sensitive and the paired bi-aural earphones work just as well.

Cons None, that I can think of.

Summary One of the best products produced in the last ten years. Just like the iPod transformed the way we listen to music, the Edge and Pulse will forever change the way we think about and use pens and paper for work and school.

  • "Plenty of potential but almost useless as is."
    on by Kregear3

    Pros A very cool concept.

Cons -No way to transfer audio from computer to pen so you can sync notes
-Do not expect any support from livescribe, forum does not work and no replies to email
-once you remove notes from pen there is no way to put them back

Summary This pen has so much potential but livescribe for whatever reason makes every task either impossible or so combersome it is not worth it. I have a lot of audio on my computer that I would love to transfer to the pen in order to record notes to but this is impossible. The only work around is to play the audio and record it on the pen but one must have a silent place to do this as you will record all ambient noise. Also if you are not around when the audio is done it will continue recording indefinitely; wasting space. There is no way to crop this wasted dead space.

Another flaw that I do not understand is that once you archive your notes to the computer, taking them off the pen, you can not ever transfer those notes back to the pen. I do not understand why livescribe would do this.

I was very excited when I ordered this pen but after spending many hours on forums trying to figure this pen out I am coming to the conclusion it is practically worthless to me.

  • "This pen sucks. Do not buy it.. 9 hrs later."

    Pros None, None, None, None

Cons Computer will to recognize, both Mac and PC. Customer service is terrible.

    Summary Do not buy it.
