"Receiced an empty factory sealed box and sore runaround"1.0 starson by MikeCarrollJr
Pros: Nicely designed box
Cons: When the box is empty, it's a major hassle to get it resolved
Summary: A relative sent the Livescribe 2GB Pulse Smartpen through UPS as a early Christmas gift. She purchased it at the Staples office store, in Boise, ID. Opening the box, I was astounded to find nothing in the sealed plastic container... no CD... no instructions... NOTHING. I went to the Staples store on South 4th in Salt Lake City. Passing the buck, the manager informed me that I would need to take this up to UPS, that something happened during the shipment. I insisted that it was factory sealed, but he wouldn?t budge. Further claiming his (company operated) store didn?t carry a product that was available at the Boise store, I needed to bring it back to the original store, 385 miles away.
He did eventually called the store manager in Boise, telling him, "the customer claims the box was empty". Oh by the way, he then conceded that the stores will often put an empty *display box* out and the real merchandise is in the back. But why would an empty box be sealed with a barcode that cold be rang up?
