"Great Recording Sound With Several Problems"3.0 starson by youarejunk
Pros: Great Recording and Playback Sound, Sleek Look, Compact, Great Sound Quality (Better Than iPod), Uses only One AAA Battery
Cons: Battery Only, Some Recorded Files Can't Transfer Onto Computer, Not Very User Friendly As A MP3 Player, Only Plays ORIGINAL MP3 Files
Summary: I bought this recorder for my wife so she can record her lectures. The sound quality of the recorded lectures is great, and she got many oohh's and aahh's for the cool, sleek look and the compactness of the recorder. It also doubles up as an MP3 player, and the sound is superb (definitely better than iPod's). But, there are also many problems with this recorder. The first one is that it only runs on battery so there is always a need to carry spare ones. Also, the files of the recordings don't always transfer into the computer but will still play on the recorder. Unfortunately, this is problem occurs more often than not. This product has serveral problems as a voice/music player. The fast forward and rewind function is very difficult to use. Unlike iPod, if you want to find a section in a song, you are running into a risk of start from beginning because the rewind button is the same button as back skip button, also the fast forward and skip to next song button. Imaging that if I want to go to the 30 minutes section of the recording, how long do I have to hold the fast forward button, and might accidentally skip to the next file just because you pressed to hard once. Tryiing to go back few second will happen the same too.... This recorder has a great function as a MP3 player. It's the "Copyright and Copyright Protection Feature (DRM)". If your mp3 file is not original, don't even think about that the recorder will play it. Some mp3 player application allows you to see if the mp3 file is original or not, for example winamp.
