"useless customer service"
Pros: good call rates, works with your voip router
Cons: confusing pricing, unresponsive customer service
Summary: I live in Spain and have used iconnecthere since 2003, for our US local customer servcice number on our online store. At that time their call quality, call plans and customer service were good. I was able to sync my Ebay purchased linksys voip router following their instructions and hook that to a regular cordless phone. When I needed help, I got comprehensible answers in English.
Sound quality and reception were consistent, certainly better than the others I had tried at the time. I was billed in USD on my US bank account.
Unfortuneately, over the last year their service has degraded significantly on all fronts. Outsourced overseas customer service, returns "automatic" replies, or quasi-english. The same person never responds to follow-up emails and basically doesn't resolve your issues. Feels like talking to the walls when you need assistance. Add to that, frequent repeat emails, offering services you already have.
The billing has changed to GBP, with the corresponding extra banks charges for foreign transaction.
Calls are sometimes forwarded to the more expensive cell phone without ringing on the cordless first. Call quality has become variable with echo.
Conclusion. Look elsewhere for voip phone service.
