"6 out of 10 Times Sound Quality Stinks - Hello, hello, hello, hello...."
Pros: The ONLY Pro is that P2P calls to other members are free. PERIOD!
Cons: Lousy call quality the MAJORITY of the Time, Clunky software, Frequent Cut-Outs
Summary: Hello, hello, hello, hello.... do you enjoy conversations in a cave? Then you'll LOVE Skype. You know that "Can you hear me guy"? He NEVER worked at Skype. Remember that advertisement "Fewer dropped calls...", well Skype will never be using that saying!
My hardware is the best, Belkin Wi-Fi Skype Phone, the Linksys CIT-300, US Robotics USB VoIP Phone and Skype software tested on both Mac OS X 10.4 and Windows XP and Vista. The flakey Skype results CAN'T be blamed on anything but Skype!
SIP phone VoIP technology is cleaners, clearer and far more reliable, no doubt about it.
Ps. Just TRY and talk to ANYONE at Skype with any kind of a problem. Hell we couldn't even get their PR department to return calls for some free magazine article coverage! It figures that they are now part of eBay ... another loser.
