Cons: Lie, consistently, about when they'll transfer your number.
Summary: My transfer authorization went to Vonage on March 26...It's now May 23, and my number still has not ported over...I've been calling for weeks and each time get a customer "service" representative who knows less about the situation than the last, providing perfunctory responses like, "any day now." If you don't care about transferring your number, maybe they're O.K. Otherwise, don't walk...run away.

Pros: The phone was okay, quality was generally good.
Cons: Technical: Call quality was good unless we were using the internet, then it dropped tremendously. Otherwise, I'd say decent.
Customer service: This aspect of Vonage is TERRIBLE. I cannot stress enough how bad their service is. I was lied to and told theySummary: The service itself is decent, but if you ever have to rub shoulders with their customer care, give it up. They are impossible to work with, they are rigid and unyielding, not to mention that they are very sneaky with their offers and suggestions. Make sure you document everything otherwise you could end up seriously taken for a ride.

Summary: THE ONLY REASON I GAVE A 1 OUT OF 10, IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T GIVE YOU THE OPTION OF GIVING THEM A 0, OR NEGATIVE NUMBERS .............OH IF I HAD 3 HOURS TO DESCRIBE EVERYTHING VONAGE HAS DONE TO US.....BUT I'LL HAVE TO DO IT QUICKLY.....WE SIGNED UP (NO PROB) WE USED THEIR SERVICE (NO PROB, EXCEPT PHONE CUT OUT WHEN WE WERE TALKING TO THE OTHER PERSON, THEY COULDN'T UNDERSTAND US---ANNOYING BUT ABLE TO LIVE WITH!) WE MOVED, GOT A LAND LINE IN NEW HOUSE, AND NEEDED TO CANCEL VONAGE!!!!! FEES HERE, FEES THERE, OUR YEAR WAS UP IN 2 WEEKS, THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE $50 (APPROX) TO CANCEL BEFORE THE YEAR IS UP......TO AVOID THE FEE CALL BACK ON 4/19....DID THAT..IT WAS A SATURDAY-----NOBODY THERE!!! CALLED ON MONDAY, THERE IS A $40 DISCONNECT FEE...PLUS WE OWE FOR A WHOLE MONTH, BECAUSE IT'S 1 DAY INTO THE NEW MONTH....NOT OUR FAULT!!!! Pros: Cheap; when it works, sounds fine
Cons: Outages; terrible customer service
Summary: Worst company ever. Charged us for 5 months after we had our number transferred away and then charged us $40 to cancel service we canceled in May. This was after terrible phone service with frequent outages. And it wasn't on our end. You'd go to the website, and it would say technical difficulties.
I tried to resolve our issues with customer service, but no one had the authority. I swore I'd keep anyone else form getting stuck with a contract with this company!!
