"Good vacationing vehicle, especially for extra family" on by sdhighlands

Pros: Plenty of seating, and with full seats, lay them down, plenty of space for dogs or boxes in back!

Cons: Performance, BUT if you keep it at 55-60mph, watch the mileage climb as you get to go past the pumps!

Summary: We were able to pull almost 30mpg off of ours for a few stops, otherwise it stayed at about 28 on the long trips. Key is just be light on the gas pedal - in town gas milage is bad, but all vehicles are pretty much that way.

"You think this car is Ugly?" on by Cobra_R

Pros: Good Design, Good Engine, Good Room.

Cons: Should have kept the Freestyle name,

Summary: I don't know what the editors at Cnet are looking at, but this car isn't ugly. In fact, it's much better looking then the boring Freestyle that it replaced, but then again you people are novice in the car editing field compared to car editors like Car & Driver and Motor Trend.

If Cnet is going to get serious about reviewing cars, then why don't you guys get real editors in this field that have been doing it longer then a year, so that people can start taking your car reviews seriously.

    "Looks great" on by eeee

Pros: domestic form gets sale revenue

Cons: pricey like most large vehicles

Summary: What a bunch of hackers and stabbers on this site! As indicated by another reviewer, this is a practical and more economical family vehicle.
***My belief is that hardly anyone visits this bloated web site; half the time the web response for this site is turtle slow and the very low amount of comments to the car reviews supports that most web surfers do not take CNET car reviews as very valid in the least.
****CNET: Please oncentrate on reviewing the tech and geek aspect of car electronics and keep the biased personal styling comments to the blogs and not the review pages !

"DVD player is great - found out provider was Delphi very impressed" on by bob_purdue

    Pros: Wireless headdphones sound great

Cons: Wish the screen was larger

Summary: In regards to the Reviewer's comments:
" There are volume buttons on the roof-mounted DVD unit, but for some reason, they didn't want to work"
    - The DVD system volume controls only work to adjust the radio volume to the last highest position set by the front driver or to adjust the wired headphone levels on the side of the unit. It took me a while to figure this out.

"Great Car, great looks" on by d-dave01

Pros: Power, safety ... it's all good

Cons: Could get better mileage but the better performace is the trade off

Summary: A couple of things ... I love CNET electronics reviews but when did they become car experts? Stick to the gizmos, please. This car has wonderful Volvo underpinnings and looks more like the Cadillac SRX to me.

The car received much more than a name change from Freestyle ...it received over 500 engineering improvements. And one of the reasons they went away from the CVT transmision and a larger engine was because of all the whiners that said the car was underpowered ... sheesh ... why can't anyone give a domestic a chance?

Taurus X is a great car. I love mine and the price for the features could not be beat. Quality is very good and the purchase expereince was great ... safest 7-passenger CUV on the road ... beat that, Toyota.
