Pros My Alien Green Soul is AWESOME. The 5 speed is great. I love the styling, tech features, and the little things that make it stand out - 3 cigarette lighter jacks, adj. headrests, cargo organizer.... Fully loaded, $17,650. You can't beat it.
Cons You are right about the iPod control. It's not the most intuitive. They need to rate it to tow like they do in other countries.
Summary Get the manual transmission and you will love it!!! The Soiul is the best, most fun, attention-getting car I have ever owned.
Pros A lot of options for the money, Very spacious, Popularity due to the ads, distinctive shape, able to really achieve 30mpg with light footed driving, tall , a lot of ground clearance with the 18 inch wheels and short overhangs front and specially in the ba
Cons It needs a "MAINTENANCE REQ" OR A WRENCH LIGHT besides the Check engine Light like for oil change life, etc, they cut costs by not putting these small things, I wish it had a 5 or 6 speed A/T since 4 just seems OLD, revs too high on the highway
Summary I was looking for a nice car for me and my family, ( I'm 22 years old and I have a son which wasn't really planned) but anyways I had a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro with V6 with A/T, that car isn't necessarily family friendly, but anyways I always liked the soul, the smart packaging of having a lot of space and being short wheel-based, I looked a bunch of different ones but the basic one was just that, Too basic, so I went for a top of the line with the Java color and the LV seats ( my girl liked them ..women) anyways. it has everything you can get on a soul, Fog lamps,18 inch wheels it sits tall and a lot of ground clearance, which is great when parking against curbs perpendicular the curb always hits the wheels instead of dragging the bottom of the car. sunroof and upgraded audio system got it for 16K
It hurt a bit getting rid of the 2010 Camaro, but this car gets just as much attention. I think unlike the Camaro this is a great investment I can use it for anything and still feel young and my son is very happy and so is my girl with all the space they enjoy. I would've gotten a 5 speed wish Kia offered a 6 speed like in the Forte, which was priced the same but Soul is a lot more car for your money. I bought it from Dale Jarrett Kia in South Charlotte, North Carolina, they gave me a bunch of stuff like roadside assistance and 5 year interior protection stuff, which is a lot for your money. Kia is a brand new company they get it now, You should give them a chance, this car is solid and well made, and wont make you feel sad, I have more joy and smilled more driving this than I did driving the 2010 Camaro, in the camaro you feel like you have to prove yourself all the time and pose and never really enjoyed anything. In the 2011 Kia Soul, you enjoy the drive, enjoy having people in it with you, they will love being in your spacious car.
Bottom line is: If you are a former Toyota or Honda customer and their new products just seem too conservative and not fun at all and overpriced and with not enough warranty, then Kia or Hyundai may be the thing for you. 100k Warranty gives you a peace of mind, and NO I do not work for Kia, I am a Paramedic for Gaston county EMS. and come from a family that had owned them all from ford trucks to 2011 camryes to 2011 accords and believe me this one is the one you can do it all on.

Pros I remember when Kia first hit the shores~I never would have considered one!
They missed the mark on the demographics though-just like Honda did with the Element.
They thought it would appeal to the kids but us old folks (40+) like it!
I have only seen adu
Cons Heated seats please (we live in Minnesota) - oh well we went aftermarket.
Summary Hey, it's not a Lexus or a BMW.
But only spending 16k for a cool (yeah a kia is cool-go figure) you can't go wrong.
I look at those driving 50k cars + and laugh all the way to the country club (ever wonder why the benz drivers don't tip...no money left over)
Thanks Kia for a fun ride.
Pros Awesome, comfortable interior; constantly surprising people with how roomy it is. Drives well, great stereo, fits in many parking spots unavailable to be before with my Isuzu Rodeo. Decent highway gas mileage.
Cons Rides a bit rough over expansion joints, paint is a bit thin (got a few nicks very quickly), engine a bit buzzy when pushed hard, hard to find a happy medium with the heat.
Summary We had been in the market for a new car so we had been renting cars to see which one we like the most. We rented a Soul on a whim and my wife fell in love with it. I really didn't care about it until I drove it back to the rental lot. I was very impressed with the cab room and how well it drove. We went on to rent many other cars in the following weeks but nothing appealed to us as much as the Kia. We were ready to spend twice as much as we paid for our Soul, as we were looking at BMW's and Acuras. We wanted a roomy, comfortable car to drive, as we are on the road a lot. We decided to down size as our son is now in college and it's just three of us at home now. We went back to try and rent the Soul again, but it was always gone or spoken for. We actually drove 90 miles to the dealership we bought it at and the whole process took about 2 hours. It basically came down to what color we wanted. In the month that we've owned it, we have put nearly 4000 trouble-free miles on it. We have taken numerous trips to L.A. and one trip to Vegas in it. It is very comfortable, reliable and fun to drive. I enjoy the cabin room, especially the tall ceiling height. The in town gas mileage isn't the best, but it beats the heck out of the 12 MPG my Isuzu got! Owning the Soul has been a very pleasant experience. I find myself constantly gushing about how great this car is! Though we could easily afford a much more expensive vehicle, I would still buy the Soul over most cars available. The few things I mentioned in the "Cons" section are easily over looked by all the positives this car has. We highly recommend the Soul.
Pros Kinda neat looking
Reminds me of the old XB
hamsters love it
Cons Im 6'2" tall and could not see over the front of the car, you sit way to low, and the base model does not have adjustments to fix this issue.
The 5-speed feels like a ford truck with 300K miles
the clutch is not well designed
Summary For 15K it is a nice little rodent mobile. But it is a far cry from the XB.
