Many, many functions, dificult software, one fatal flaw.
Pros: Download of riding stats, integrated HR monitor, etc
Cons: Stopwatch and mileage limitation, dificult software
Review: This is a wonderful training tool. The display is clear and crisp and the unit is loaded with functions. Once downloaded the user can study charts of everything from ride temperature, hill profiles, speed, to heart rate. Nothing comes close to the functionality of the HAC 4.
Unfortunately there are a few problems. The handlebar mount is a joke and can come off unless reinforced with tie straps. The software is very dificult to use and while comes with a USB interface, looks for a COM port (there IS a way to make it work). The manual is very confusing and poorly written.
If you are a very long distance rider as I am there IS one fatal flaw. After 10 hours of riding the stopwatch resets (10 hour limit),...and it resets the mileage with it! If you are on a long ride such as an endurance event that takes more than 10 hours you will look down to find that the stopwatch and mileage have rolled over to zero and continued counting. Unforgivable. The internal database is still correct however and later (assuming you do not go off course because your mileage reset) you can load the entire ride profile to your PC intact.
For sub 10 hour riding events it is wonderful. A great training tool.
