"Does nothing to complement your smartphone"1.5 starson by thisistheslam
Pros: It's turns on, onboard camera idea is pretty nifty
Cons: Terrible battery life, no real-world benefits, screen isn't as good as advertised
Summary: The bottom line is this thing is not garbage, but it's also not worth putting a single dollar toward. It's got a 5MP camera built in, which is the best and only worthy piece of tech on the device. The battery likely won't last through the day making you wonder what's the point of using it? Notifications are nice, but sliding a finger across the display to answer a phone call is ridiculous since you still have to have your phone out to answer it! There's just no good application for this device. The smartwatch market is getting interest again from all kinds of companies, but honestly Samsung's entry is a disaster that doesn't pull off any of it's intended uses with grace or reason. I wasn't overly confident that this item or any other smartwatch could be useful. Nokia's Windows Phone concept is honestly the best idea I've seen of a "smartwatch", but it's used more as a notification center, a watch, camera, and a couple other possible uses - but it's still designed to be a watch and isn't even in production at this time, leaving this still young corner without a worthy investment opportunity. The key is not abandoning the watch idea but making it more useful. Whoever can give you a smartwatch that lasts days at a time without a recharge and can fit in cool little techs on a screen that is vibrant and is visible in the sun, all in an attractive package, will perhaps see success. But the smartwatch idea is still one that few are actually interested in so it will take something extraordinary to capture a larger audience.
