"Expensive, many features, but reception is poor"
Pros: One of the best digital watches ever in terms all features. Vibrating alert, touch screen, and saphire crystal are all superb.
Cons: Reception performance is poor compared to other SPOT watches. Expensive. Microsoft's commitment to SPOT is not certain.
Summary: In an elite class of watches that includes such landmark products as the HP-01, and Casio CFX-200, is the Tissot Hight-T. The breadth of features of the High-T is stunning, and the attention to detaail has to be seen to be believed. When viewing a category, for example, the time, date, and signal strength, "slide" down from the top of the screen once automatic scrolling starts. The backlight stays on for a length of time YOU specify, the slowly fades out. The saphire crystal touch screen has NO scratches after one year of use, and the High-T is still the only watch with a touch screen.
Unfortunately, the High-T's only problem is the worst possible problem: reception is poor. I can be in the middle of my reception area, outside with a clear view of the sky, and signal strength is low or non-existent. Tech support for MSN Spot watches is outsourced to India. Support personnel are difficult to understand, and have no real knowledge of the products.
Bottom Line: Tissot High-T features are impressive, but reception is poor enough to make the watch a poor choice
