"Great Product I love it!" on by axialx3000

Pros: Adobe Dreamweaver is a great product to use if you know what you are doing and have a great knowledge of HTML,CSS and other website-building factors.

Cons: It is not for everyone who want to create a simple website or use it only once and don't know how to use HTML. That's why I recommend this great product to teach you how to use it Good Luck!

Summary: Overall this a great product with so many features! I have to admit it is a bit over-priced but It is great software to use.

"Good for beginners not good for professionals" on by Cyberience

Pros: Good preview, context sensetive editing, like a pro notepad.

Cons: Not stable, you can get trapped, eg, put 2 fields of the same name in seperate Div tags, and the DW will crash, there is no built in back up or recovery, you loos all, Menus are not intuitive, The designer is not drag and drop friendly.

Summary: When Adobe got Golive, I thought they would learn from it, but alas they just binned it, and kept evolving Dream Weaver, in a none intuitive way, Golive 9 is a far better product then Dream weaver. Dream weaver is just a note pad editing tool with a bit of a vidual preview, if it had the visual design capability of Go Live, it would be great,so my preference is to use notepad and a browser, than keep loosing my work with this crap.

"The big daddy of web development, and site management." on by TheSoftwareManiac

Pros: Simple to create, publish, update, manage, and process. Dreamweaver is very fast, and provides a simple interface that a even a really really smart child could understand. When editing the site, Dreamweaver does the scripting for you!

Cons: Publishing can be very simple; but depending on the web hosting company; things can become quickly difficult. Plus when you look at the price you pay for such a program; it really should come with a much wider choice of templates, icons, menus, etc..

Summary: When ever I first started with taking a professional approach to website management; Microsoft's Frontpage 2003 was really just arriving and it was everything a webmaster wanted. But then I got wind of a great, and more versatile program; "Dreamweaver". While I continued one with my Frontpage 2003, bugs in the software were a norm, with no solution. But it was still fast, simple, and worked; until one day I simply said "That's it! I've had it with all these bugs, errors, and lack of support." and that day I switched to Dreamweaver.
Since then it's the only solution I use for all my webmaster needs. Without it I would become a weary lost puppy on the side of the road. It brings me every thing I could ever need, allowing me to preform any edit and see a real time preview of my work. Best of all was it's ability to create the scripts for you; and any true webmaster knew that this could become a very frustrating task. So I was sold, and would never turn my back on my precious little program.

Now I won't lie there are several other companies providing the same service as Dreamweaver, but I can almost guarantee you that for the most part it's nothing like it. You see Dreamweaver has it's own system for creating your website masterpieces by giving the user the ability to drag and drop anything he needs inserted, be able to upload and download content from your site servers, fast and securely update your site with the new content, create dynamic sites, and a billion more things. For it is as I have always said, there is almost nothing in comparison to the products of Adobe when searching for only the very best and more advanced in software.

So after years of using this program, and almost never hitting a snag where it was unable to preform the task set out; I proudly, and quite confidently give Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 a solid 5 stars for it's superb superiority over all else in web design/development.

"Nice...Wayyyy to pricey." on by ShadowSparksInternational

Pros: Has all the stuff I want/need.

Cons: To Pricey, Some useless stuff(at least for me), Complicated menus.

Summary: I would recommend this product to all of you 'cause it is the best out there(opinion). Hate the big price tag but, has every thing you need to build a nice dynamic website. If you do have the money i recommend the Master collection.

"It's the best web development tool out there right now." on by ewgino

Pros: I was pleased to see the collapsible areas to make more screen space for developers and designers that are stuck with a standard laptop screen resolution. This version is tightly integrated with other commonly used Adobe products.

Cons: I have been using Dreamweaver since the early days and the interface changes forced me to break some long time habits. Dreamweaver users will find a re-learning curve with new changes.

Summary: Compared to other competing products Dreamweaver is still the most professional and solid tool that is used to date. The price is slightly high but still worth it.
