"The best features of the best webmail programs." on by aquaeus
Pros: Simple to use; combines the best of many other webmail programs.
Cons: You can't always access it
Summary: I'd always considered Yahoo Mail to be overrated as a webmail service, preferring Fastmail or Gmail. That's changed of late
Yahoo is reliable- when you can manage to sign in. The size of this company, and the volume of email it handles, seems to limit its accessibility at times. This doesn't happen often- just at the worst possible moment! And help with your webmail account (or anything else) can take forever at Yahoo.
Even here, though, I sense an improvement of late.
It's easy to use, and its recent increase to 1 GB storage (ala Gmail) combines with its decision to offer automatic virus scanning (ala Fastmail's paid services) impress me. I'm not ready to give up my Gmail and Fastmail accounts (and I wish, BTW, that CNET would review the latter excellent service; it's one of the best), but I find myself using Yahoo Mail as my primary webmail now. Not long ago that wouldn't have been something I would even have considered.
